With her vast experience in executive/team development and a true passion for
empowering others, Pattie Vargas is uniquely qualified to help individuals identify their
personal career goals and develop a practical work plan for achieving them. Her extensive
experience in organizational effectiveness has led to the realization that unhappy
employees translates to low customer satisfaction, high employee turnover and poor corporate performance.
NextWork was born to assist individuals in identifying their ideal career situation, thereby improving their job
satisfaction and overall personal happiness.
Spending more than 20 years in team and project management, human performance improvement, organizational
development and interpersonal skills development, Pattie has a natural ability to steer the growth of the NextWork
program. With a masters degree in Organizational Management and a bachelors degree in Business
Management, Pattie is an expert in classical workplace process improvement and technical project management
and holds Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. She is also
certified in Total Quality Management and Process Improvement from the University of California, San Diego, and
is certified in the DISC Behavioral Assessments.
Outside of her involvement with NextWork, Pattie is a consultant with The Vargas Group, a San Diego-based consulting firm providing facilitation and coaching in Human Performance Improvement (HPI) and Operational Optimization. Her HPI strategies have been featured in PMNetwork magazine and “Excellence At Work: Six Keys for Inspiring Passion in the Workplace” by WorldAtWork.
Pattie is also the author of EXTREME Project Manager Makeover, focusing on human performance improvement strategies for Project Managers
Stemmed from a passion for helping people in their professional life, Pattie also enjoys her involvement with the
San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, the American Business Women’s Association, American Society of
Training and Development, Project Management Institute and Women in Technology International. Her
involvement with the community has not gone unnoticed, and in 2007 she was named as one of the Top 10
Business Women by The American Business Women’s Association. |
